Macrame

This past Sunday Jess taught some of us girls how to make Macrame necklaces.

We could choose different types of cord,

and different types of beads to make them.

Jess did a great job teaching and we all had a lot of fun!

We found out that it helps to be creative! We used pens to hold our string so that it wouldn't get away and then we put the pens through the slots in the chairs to hold them still!

The Twins, Zoe, our new friend Julie, and I all tried our hand at making them. We took a really long time deciding on what beads to use and we then started knotting. We spent at least a couple hours working on them!

Even Marge joined us! She said that she used to do it all the time and she really enjoyed picking it up again.

Joy didn't want the big girls to have all the fun without her! She even had a pen and then it had to go right through the chair like ours did!

All of the girls decided that we need to make these more often! After we got done they all started to make plans of having someone take them to Walmart so they could buy supplies!

Cute Guys...

On Sunday I was out taking pictures when these cute guys came up and started posing for my camera.

The only choice I had was to take their picture!

They just wouldn't leave my camera alone and they kept me busy for quite a while.... :)

Then the guys found Becky and she was really popular!

They all had to have their picture taken with her!

Un-Decortating

We decided this week that it was time to take down the poofy flowers from the recent Grad Party.

But hey, shouldn't we have fun in the process?

Blue Tarp

Before the Kotzem family left we decided to resurrect Wolfgang's favorite 'blue tarp'!

We thought it would look lovely on his truck for the trip back home.

It was so much fun to see the parents do something weird!

It was all their idea and they did all the work!

What do you think? Should he leave it there?

Volley Ball

Wonder what the Refugees have been up to lately?

The last few weeks we've been having fun playing volley ball!
We're not perfect (especially me :) but we all just try to have fun.
Everyone has enjoyed coming and just watching us play.
And they cheer for you even if you drop the ball.

The object of the game is to keep the ball off the ground, not to hit it twice, and to keep it in the yellow lines. Anything else I forgot?

My brother Josh. He had a terrible time! ;) (Just kidding he really enjoyed himself) It is not a good idea to have Jason and Michelle play together. They are both really good and it is not fair for the other team.
Yes you are supposed to dive after the ball if it comes near you but for some reason when that Smiley face come towards me I always want to duck!
The girls saw how much fun the guys were having wrestling in the sand so they decided to try it. I think the giggled the entire time!

Okay you're probably tired now of seeing everyone looking up at a falling ball so I'll stop with the volley ball pics.

Saying Goodbye

I know these pictures are kind of old but it has taken me a while to get over the Kotzems going back to Germany! (sniff)

That and something about a busy summer schedule...

Frank isn't quit as tall as P.J. so they had to adjust their heights!

How many people can play piano at one time?

The Germans wanted another chance to try and beat the Americans before they left.
But if I remember right the Americans won again!
Then it was time for them to leave! :(
We were all ready for them to stay longer but their flights were booked. :( :(

It was so cool to see how different our worlds were but how easily our lives blended together.
