Gorgeous day at the campground....

This Sunday our pastor and his family were gone on vacation and they were definitely missed! When people are gone, things just aren't the same. We all want them to come home safely and soon!
Before the service, Jessica Rogers did and object lesson for the children. She talked about the Bible verse where it says to "make straight a path in the wilderness". Jessica asked Kaleb to come up shovel the stones and things out of the way to make a smooth path in the box of sand.
Kaleb was happy to acquiesce, and it wasn't long before his older brother, Isaac, joined him. At first they were quiet, but it wasn't long before their "boy"-ness kicked in. It was so cute to hear their "vroom's" and other truck noises.

It was such lovely weather and we all enjoyed being outside. Isaac was determined to go fishing and just as adamant that Joy, as a girl, could not join him!

Kaleb offering me his half-eaten rice crispy treat...

"Mel, push me high!"

The Ziglers invited one of the guys who works for John to come to church and he brought his family. This is Makayla (I'm not sure how she spells that!), the oldest, on the teeter-totter with Zoe.

I'm not sure who first decided to play some baseball, but everybody brought their gloves that afternoon.

Zoe had a bit of trouble putting hers on....

Argh!

Finally - success!

We girls had fun trying on Gabrielle's sunglasses and trying silly poses.

(Gab is wearing Jason's sunglasses in this one)

Now, it's time for the guys to play!

I dont' think they ever had a real game because they didn't have enough people for two teams.

They just switched places on who was batting and who was pitching and in the outfield.

Zeb and Jordan found time to do a bit of fishing as well. Joy tagged along and asked questions.

Joy - "Whatcha doin'?"
Jordan - "Fishing."
Joy - "Why?"
Jordan - "Because I want to."
Joy - "Why?"
Jordan - "Um...because I want to catch fish!"
Joy - "Why?"

Finally! Jordan caught a fish! It's so....big?

"Thou shalt do the dance"

The Hemmers have gone to quite a few 'Old English Country' dances over the last year so this Sunday they decided to teach us how to do the Virginia Reel.

None of us were very good but it was a lot of fun 'trying' to do it!

I think we enjoyed laughing at ourselves the most!

Don't we look interesting! =)

Puddle Stomper

Last Sunday while everyone else was fishing Kaleb found a giant puddle...
When he first saw it he looked up at his dad with an adorable smile and then looked back at the puddle, and then back at his dad and back at the puddle... After doing that a few times Mr. Lee finally said: "Okay." And Kaleb went off to have fun!
Back and forth, and back and forth he ran...
...not getting tired but having the time of his life!
With all of his running through the puddle the mud on the ground started to get really slippery, and we just kept waiting to see him fall!
Yes he fell! But he got back up and started running again and little while latter he was sitting in the mud again!
He got so dirty! But that made his cuteness stand out even more!
A couple times his shoes fell off in the mud and he didn't like all of the mud between his toes. You would think being covered from head to foot that that wouldn't bother him. :)You may think that I am exaggerating to say that Kaleb ran through that puddle for over half an hour, but it's true just ask the Refugees who were around!
Hmmmm......
I guess after all that running he got thirsty!

Fishing

After church on Sunday almost everyone went fishing, and those who didn't go fishing went along to watch (or take pictures ;).
While fishing on the dock someone lost the reel to their fishing pole.So Jamie offered to go and get it...
But it had sunk to the bottom and he had to get out of the boat to find it.
We girls were looking at all of the sea-weed and thought that that was gross!
Yeah! He got it!
Don't worry Jess, I think he'll come clean!
Even Kaleb went fishing!
Isaac went fishing for a while but got distracted when this cute little dog came around!
Melody and I watched as Jordan, and Jason got into the boat and waited for them to set sail. We thought that they had a good chance at tipping the boat (neither of them are very graceful!) but they never left the dock! :(
Like Melody's new hair-do?
This next picture is for Gab. She told me that I'm always taking weird pictures of other people for the blog and now I need a strange one of me...
Since no one seemed to have much luck fishing in the lake Jason tried out the puddle...
He didn't catch anything!
Dave took Jason and Jordan over to a different lake to try and catch some fish and I found out that they caught over 30! Melody and decided that all of our talking at the first lake must have scared away all the fish (we weren't at the second lake)!

Mix'n Match

On Sunday some of the ladies at the Refuge came dressed-up 'un-matched'.
(Gab, Marge, Dawn, and Lauren)
They didn't match because of a comment that P.J. made a few weeks ago. He was telling about when the 'Twins' and I were little we would dress however we wanted even if it didn't match... Well they decided to have fun with that idea and you can see the outcome!

Triplets

Just recently Faith and I got the same shirt so we decided to match for church this last Sunday. We had Melody join us because she has a shirt that was almost identical.
Aren't we cute?
Sorry to all you faithful blog readers that have been waiting for an updated post this past week. (Or if you missed this week and just wanted to see what we did.) I've had a busy schedule this week and haven't had a much time to sit down and blog. :( But I will try and put something together this weekend. (although I can't make any promises)
